This Year - CELEBRATING SILENT COMEDY!
May 26, 27, 28 & 29, 2000 will mark the 32nd anniversary of CINEVENT, a gathering of fans of silent and early sound films, and of collectors of motion pictures and related items. Hundreds of fans attended last year's convention to see screenings of many great (and/or rare) films of the past, talk with others who share their cinematic interests, and visit the dealers rooms, where dealers filled over 170 tables full of film, video, sound recordings, posters, stills, lobby cards, books, autographs...everything imaginable associated with film.
Sunday Morning, May 28, 2000 at The Wexner Center for the Arts Film/Video Theater, Cinevent and The Wexner Center will present Jean Harlow (her 1st starring role!), Mae Clarke and Marie Prevost as THREE WISE GIRLS (1932) and Adolph Menjou as detective Thatcher Colt in NIGHT CLUB LADY (1932). Scrappy and Krazy Kat 35mm Cartoons will also be presented.
Seating for this screening is limited to 280, and tickets for the screening and bus transportation to and from the Wexner Center are available at an additional charge. Tickets are $8.00 each, in addition to the regular Cinevent registration fee.
CINEVENT 32 will be held May 26, 27, 28 & 29, 2000 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center (formerly the Radisson Hotel Columbus North), 4900 Sinclair Road, Columbus, OH 43229, ph: 614-846-0300.
