C. Fields in THE MAN ON THE FLYING TRAPEZE (1935);
Ronald Colman takes soap tycoon Vincent Price to the
cleaners in CHAMPAGNE FOR CAESAR (1950); GHOST
BREAKERS (1940) starring Bob Hope and Paulette
Goddard; and TRUE TO LIFE (1943) with radio writer
Dick Powell turning the lives of Mary Martin and her
family into daily radio entertainment! Also on the
program: Paul Leni's THE MAN WHO LAUGHS (1927)
starring Conrad Veidt and Mary Philbin; a real sleeper
from 1949, THE GREAT MANHUNT (aka STATE SECRET). A
Hitchcockian thriller scripted by Frank Launder and
Sidney Gilliat (The Lady Vanishes), directed by
Gilliat and starring Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Glynis Johns
and Jack Hawkins; radio star Jim Bannon ("I Love a
Mystery") stars in THE MISSING JUROR (1941)
in which the jurors of a famous murder case are being
bumped off, one by one; for the many, many fans who
responded enthusiastically to our recent presentations of
silent classics of horror, NOSFERATU (1922), F. W.
Murnau's classic (and unauthorized) version of Bram
Stoker's Dracula; the next installment in out survey of
the popular Peter Lorre series, MR. MOTO ON DANGER
ISLAND (1939) also with Leon Ames, Douglas Dumbrille,
Jean Hersholt, Robert Lowery and Amanda Duff; Bert
Wheeler and Robert Woolsey are (who'd argue?) THE
NITWITS (1935) with Betty Grable; Monte Blue and

the daughter he has never seen, in WHIRLPOOL (1934)
directed by Roy William Neill; THE COHENS AND KELLYS
IN PARIS (1928) with Charlie Murray, George Sidney,
Gertrude Astor, Sue Carol and J. Farrell MacDonald; the
unbelievable KLONDIKE (1932), the story of a
doctor in disgrace (Lyle Talbot) who goes north, waaay
north, to find himself, and finds, at least, Thelma Todd
(and Priscilla Dean, George Hayes, Tully Marshall, Lafe
McKee, Pat O'Malley, Jason Robards, Sr. and Henry B.
Walthall; a FESTIVAL OF SILENT LAUREL AND HARDY SHORTS;
