- Our survey of Stan and Ollie’s early work continues with another FESTIVAL OF LAUREL AND HARDY SHORTS
- For election year, a politically charged Double Feature: in ALIAS NICK BEAL (1949), Judge Thomas Mitchell wants to be Governor and his new friend Nick (Ray Milland) has the very Devil of a plan to put him into office; and in THE COUNTY CHAIRMAN (1935), Will Rogers runs for County Prosecutor against old rival Burton Churchill, and has the opportunity to speak his mind on politics and human nature. Whatever your politics, this double-bill is worth your vote!
- OUTSIDE THE LAW (1921) features Lon Chaney, Sr. in a double role in this early example of the psychological crime thriller, directed by Tom Browning.
- Marty Kearns will present two hour long programs of early Paramount shorts, one featuring Musical films, the other Comedies—you won’t see these on TV, even with 100+ channels of cable!
- Gary Cooper and Colleen Moore star in one of the most famous of silent WWI dramas, LILAC TIME (1928)
- Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey are CAUGHT PLASTERED (1930) as vaudevillians stranded in a small mid-western town.
- Mabel Normand takes the advice of a fortune teller and becomes a Spanish-flavored Cinderella in WHAT HAPPENED TO ROSA (1921) .
- George O’Brien rides to MYSTERY RANCH (1932) to end the reign of terror led by rancher Charles Middleton
- Director Cavalcanti presents a tale of the British music halls in CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE (1944) starring Tommy Trinder and Stanley Holloway as rival stars in 1860s London
- Rudolph Valentino reunites with Nita Naldi (BLOOD AND SAND) in COBRA (1925) - the snake in question being Rudy himself with young ladies his prey
- Louis Hayward oozes haughty, amoral creepiness in director Fritz Lang's sole foray into the Victorian Gothic mode, HOUSE BY THE RIVER (1950).
